Jewel Temple Series

Painted in 2017 -2018 - Inspired by the love of Thai temple life.

All works shown in these archives are sold pieces — a visual record of my journey over three decades as an artist, shared here with delight so you can see the evolution, the stories, and the path that has shaped my practice.

Have a wander through the other series — you might spot the one hanging on your wall.

The Jewel Temple Series was born from my long relationship with Thailand — more specifically from the senses, colours and emotions that hit you the moment you step into the Buddhist temple world. There’s a buzz of people drifting in and out, monks chanting or simply hanging around, and then that glorious mayhem: buildings overloaded with gold leaf, incense drifting everywhere, odd little sculptures placed as though someone forgot to finish the job, and those enormous gold‑leafed Buddha figures pulling you into a space that feels both spiritual and surreal. These paintings carry that energy — the chaos, the beauty, the humour, the devotion. And yes, I even picked up on the Thai letters… but that’s another story.
